Hi Meg
Amber was born in May of 1994. She was just a kitten, living under a restaurant on the gulf coast of Florida when we adopted her. We named her after amberjacks, game fish that live in the local tropical marine waters. The day after we adopted her, a hurricane destroyed the restaurant.
When was shy and extremely nervous and remained so until BlackWing Farms’ Shelter Blend changed her life. In 2001,the trip from Florida to Washington State was something. Since we couldn’t be taking her in and out of motels every night with the other cats, we bought her a huge dog cage that would hold her bed, litter box, food dishes and room to walk around.
Our mover in Florida asked what size dog would be travelling in such a huge cage. When we told him about Amber, it gave him a laugh.
